The announcement was made Tuesday morning during the Emergency Assistance Ministry (EAM) breakfast to the coalition of Casa Grande faith-based organizations, private social service agencies, and local government partners that band together to provide additional support for emergency food, shelter, and other services through the community.
The Task Force on Homelessness is merely one of many projects to stem from the creation of a recent Community Health Initiative, co-chaired by Mayor Craig McFarland, Councilmember Lisa Fitzgibbons and Councilmember Donna McBride.
The first step of the Community Health Initiative was the creation of a resource page on the new city website (www.casagrandeaz.gov) offering information and vital resources related to health and dental services, housing, veterans, employment, and more. The Task Force on Homelessness will have its first meeting, led by Mayor Craig McFarland and Councilmembers Lisa Fitzgibbons and Donna McBride, on Wednesday, November 1st and will include 18 community stakeholders.
