Tucked away in Eastern Pinal County is Arizona’s Copper Corridor. Nine unique communities comprise this region: Kearny, Hayden, Winkelman, Dudleyville, Aravaipa, San Manuel, Mammoth, Oracle and Superior. Each unique, but with its own charm and identity, together the communities comprise a region ripe for opportunity, and a place for everyone to find a new adventure or two.
The region is home to many scenic places — whether on the Arizona Trail, Aravaipa Canyon, rock climbing along Queen Creek or a float down the Gila River. It is where Arizona’s history comes to life and your story begins. The region is home to a variety of culinary delights including many authentic Mexican restaurants for those desiring a culinary adventure.
Copper mining developed the region and will remain an economic engine into the future. Economic diversification is welcomed, and leaders in the region are developing and implementing strategies to build opportunities for entrepreneurs, artists and those looking for small business development in many sectors including agriculture, tourism and small manufacturing.
The communities of Superior, Kearny and San Manuel were recently declared Opportunity Zones and they are ready for new investment. “Only in Your State” recently listed these communities in its “Top Ten Fastest Growing Communities with Populations Under 15,000 in Arizona.” Affordable housing, jobs in the mining industry and a rural quality of life attract many to these communities.
There is much to do in the Copper Corridor, including hiking, mountain biking, ATV riding, zip lining and kayaking. On four wheels, two wheels or four hooves, there are many scenic byways to experience.
Use the scenic highways of US 60 or Highways 77 and 177 to visit such wonderful attractions as the Apache Sky Casino, Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Oracle State Park, Biosphere and Arizona Zip Line Adventures. Each month you will find a festival or special event to attend throughout the region.
