CASA GRANDE, AZ – From May 21 through May 27, the City of Casa Grande is proud to participate in National Public Works Week, an opportunity to honor the men and women who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works. Held each year in May, National Public Works Week seeks to enhance the prestige of the often-unsung heroes of our society – the professionals who serve the public good every day with quiet dedication.
As stated in his mayoral proclamation, “Public Works services provided in our community are an integral part of our citizen’s everyday lives…and the support of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital to the efficient operation of public works systems such as water, sewers, streets and highways, public buildings, and solid waste collection,” said Mayor Craig McFarland. “I do hereby urge all citizens to…recognize the contributions which public work officials make every day to our health, safety, comfort, and quality of life.”
To kick off National Public Works Week, the city has launched the latest installment in its Department Spotlight series, featuring Public Works Director, Kevin Louis. The episode, which highlights the many functions and operations of the city’s Public Works Department, can be viewed below or on the city’s Youtube channel.
