Brian Kellar was named chief executive officer of Banner Casa Grande Medical Center in September. He replaces Rona Curphy.
Kellar has been with Banner since 2015 and was the chief executive officer at Banner Health’s Page Hospital, according to a Banner Health press release.
“I’m incredibly excited to immerse myself into learning the successes, culture and opportunities at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center,” said Kellar. “I’ve experienced firsthand how Banner allows community hospitals to thrive and provide an expanse of services to manage health that would otherwise force people to commute long distances or leave the place they call home. I can’t wait to be part of this team.”
According to the release, Kellar got his start in hospital administration with Sanford Health as a nursing home administrator and assistant hospital administrator in 2004, according to the release. He has spent nine years as a hospital administrator and worked five years for Primrose Retirement Communities as regional director of operations, overseeing development and operations of retirement communities in seven states. During his leadership duties, he has also taught health care administration as an adjunct instructor at Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D.
Kellar is moving to Casa Grande with his wife Christel, daughter Micayla, 18, sons Leo, 14, Lincoln, 12 and dogs Jedi and Chewy.
